Duke and Moby

Today is our last with Duke and Moby.

First Day we got Duke
January 19, 2009

Duke and Moby's first day together.
Fall 2011

We love our dogs. They have been a wonderful part of our family. Nevertheless, mini poodles need a lot of love, attention and affection. With Abigail here, a new job and a new home, we just have not been able to give them the love and attention they need and should get. So, we are bringing them to their new home tomorrow. Though we are heart broken, there a lots of positives for Duke and Moby. Most importantly, they are going to the family we got Moby from! So it will not be a completely new place (at least not for Moby). This family has two precious girls and lots of love to give, so we know they will be well taken care of. And, they will be together.
Though we know we are doing the right thing for our puppies, but it hurts to see them go.

We love you, Duke and Moby!

The Luckiest

Last week Ray and I celebrated 5 years of life in love.

My memory is not the best. The start of our relationship, the details of dates and conversations, the many life changes we encountered before our wedding day - I'm pretty fuzzy on the details.

But falling in love with him - I remember that perfectly.

I remember watching him teach a group of orphaned boys to throw and catch a football. I remember listening to him preach the good news to children at a school in the middle of Kenya's largest slum. I remember him rolling around on the grass with toddlers at a home for abandoned babies - many of whom were HIV positive. I remember a little boy named Marvin who was attached to him and thought he was hilarious. I remember thinking, "wow, there are men out there who love Christ with a deep passion," "man, he's really attractive," and "I bet he's going to be a great father one day."
I remember praying (well, kind of begging) as I walked down the streets, watching him play with children, "God, please let me marry him. Oh, please let us choose one another. PA.LEASE!"

It's 5 years later.
God graciously authored the introduction to our love story on the streets of Kenya.
And - all the musings a I had back then are still true today.
Ray is a man, who though imperfect, loves his Lord with a deep passion and unending hunger.
Ray is attractive on so many different levels - we won't go there.
Ray is a precious, patient, fun, loving, loyal, beautiful father.

Clearly, I am the luckiest.

A most happy father's day to you, my love.

5 months goes by in a blink

Ray and I aren't real sure what we ever did without Abigail.
She.Is.Awesome.
Our little (almost) 5 month old is growing big, strong and is already wearing 9 month old clothing.
Apparently I'm making cream, as our little one weighs 20+ lbs
(I swear she is exclusively breastfed).
She gives mommy a great workout!

Here is a peek into the last five months with our precious Abigail . . .
